Fetch a post

Fetch a single public X post by id or URL. Returns the full record: author, text, media, engagement metrics, and any quoted/reposted post.

GET /v1/x/post/{tweet_id}

Path parameter

Parameter	Type	Description
tweet_id	string	Required. A numeric tweet id (e.g. 1234567890123456789) or a full post URL (e.g. https://x.com/nasa/status/1234567890123456789). URLs from the search endpoint can be passed verbatim.

Fields

Field	Description
id	Numeric tweet id.
type	post, reply, quote, or repost.
text	Full post text (long-form posts included).
metrics	Engagement counts — see Overview.
entities	Hashtags, cashtags (symbols), mentions, and URLs.
media[]	Attached photos / videos / gifs, with a direct video_url for playable media.
author	The posting account.
quoted / retweeted	The nested quoted / reposted post, when present.
fetched_at	UTC timestamp when the post was captured (metrics are a snapshot from that moment).

Billing

Billed per request — 1 unit per call. See Billing.

Errors

Status	Code	Meaning
400	invalid_tweet_id	No tweet id could be parsed from the input.
404	not_found	The post is deleted, protected, or does not exist.
